A part of the Art Box editorial team had the pleasure of covering, for the first time, one of the most important music festivals in Europe this year. From August 20 to 24, 2025, the musically, socially, and environmentally conscious festival Rock en Seine, held at the very gates of Paris, brought together visitors of all generations and musical tastes.

With a rich history dating back to its founding in 2003, Rock en Seine once again lived up to high expectations, offering 89 concerts across five different stages. Its visionary, bold, and inclusive concept, combined with the unique setting of the beautiful Saint-Cloud park, remains one of the festival’s strongest assets.

This year’s edition featured both established artists and exciting discoveries. Standout performances came from pop star Chappell Roan (in her only French show of the year), Justice, Jamie XX, Aurora, Marc Rebillet, Caribou, Mk.gee, Khruangbin, London Grammar, La Lom, and Gildaa – each bringing something special to the stage.

The final night was all about rock, with powerful sets from Dublin’s Fontaines D.C. and California legends Queens of the Stone Age. One of the most talked-about moments came from Kneecap, whose politically charged performance and vocal support for Palestinian rights led to a partial withdrawal of financial support for the festival — but not from the audience, who received the band with great enthusiasm.

This year again, Rock en Seine reaffirmed its status as a festival that not only delivers an exceptional musical experience but also actively promotes environmental awareness, inclusion, diversity, and civic responsibility. Special focus was given to supporting young talent through initiatives such as Club Avant Seine, the ACT Zone with debates, the Mini Rock space for children, and a collaborative art project by French band The Psychotic Monks and the Futur Composé association.

This year, the festival welcomed an impressive 150,000 visitors, who enjoyed a truly unique oasis of sound and emotion. The next edition of the festival is already set: August 26–30, 2026!
